Climate change is happening and the effects of which are continued to be felt within the arable sector.
You are invited to attend an Adapting to Climate Change in the Arable Sector workshop taking place at West Mathers, by kind permission of host farmer, Eric Scott.
With the adverse weather conditions we have seen over the past couple of years the farmers in this area have really struggled with field operations. This meeting will focus on adapting to these conditions and will discuss potential solutions through the use of different machinery and different crops which can help promote business resilience in the area as well as ensure farmers are still meeting all cross-compliance requirements.
Topics for discussion at the event will include:
- Crop choice
- Benefits of cover crops and options available
- Woodland creation
- Compaction demonstration
