Agri-Environment on the Farm (Isle of Islay Business Discussion Group)
Islay contains vital habitats for marsh fritillary, chough, corncrakes, Greenland barnacle goose, Greenland white-fronted goose, waders, etc. Many farmers and crofters are in agri-environmental schemes but, as these finish and with the uncertain political situation, there is the risk that these vital habitats will be either neglected or bought back into mainstream agricultural production.
This meeting will explain the importance of continuing agri-environmental management and bringing more habitats into suitable management.
