Cauldshiel Trials Site Open Evening – Haddington
For the 3rd year running, FAS is facilitating an open evening showcasing the well-established cereals trial site at Cauldshiel.
Farmers, Keith and Scott Maxwell will kindly host this evening event at Cauldshiel Farm, which will begin with a BBQ. The farm hosts the SRUC trial site for the 17th year and the site features more than 2,000 plots grown to provide information for the regional list varieties of wheat and barley, as well as research trials on nitrogen use efficiency and fungicide programmes.
There will be a number of presentations after the BBQ covering the topics below from a range of leading agronomy researchers and industry experts.
- Crop choice for the farm and market
- Winter wheat & spring barley varieties
- Fungicide programmes on winter wheat and spring barley
- Disease control following the loss of chlorothalonil, IPM and remote sensing.
