Forage crops can provide business resilience against variable fodder supplies, low cost out-wintering and opportunities to expand farm output. Forward planning is key in ensuring their success and this meeting will cover the impact of crop choice, field selection, cultivation methods and management on achieving all round performance.
Local farmers Kevin Stewart, Giles Henry and Robert Neill regularly grow forage crops and they will share their experience of doing so to help inform decision-making for those thinking of growing and utilising forage crops in the year ahead.
This is a free event open to all with a pie and refreshments provided.
