New Entrants to Farming: Lambing Course Part 2 – Developing Your Skills to Reduce Lamb Losses (Stranraer)

This course will build on the lambing course which you attended last year.  You will have had varying experiences with your sheep flock during lambing 2018 and hopefully you managed to put some of the skills you learnt to good use.

On this second course, Heather Stevenson of SRUC Veterinary Services will develop your understanding of lamb development in the last few weeks of pregnancy and how this can influence lamb survival rates at birth.  Carol Nelson, Academy Vets, will cover lamb first aid and demonstrate useful techniques such as giving glucose injections.  If you enjoyed last year’s course and would like to further develop your knowledge, then this is not to be missed!
