New Entrants to Farming: Setting Up A Profitable Enterprise (Orkney)

In this workshop event, participants will be given a farm tour of Norton Farm.  Sam Spence will describe his current system then the group will be asked to appraise the business, looking at its strengths and weaknesses, then decide on a strategy to take the business forward.

The event will be led by Susan Pirie (SAC Consulting) with guest speaker Karen Scholes (Scholes CA) discussing enterprise profitability and finance with the group.

This event will give New Entrants the necessary tools to look at business opportunities from an objective viewpoint.  This meeting is being run in response to a training need which has been identified by new entrants and young farmers in the area.

We will also be having a BBQ at the meeting.
