Book

The ewes are in lamb, they are being fed according to body condition score and number of lambs they are carrying, all that’s left to do to have a successful lambing is make lambing time as stress free as possible.

This workshop will look at how ewes should be grouped to reduce stress, the importance of good hygiene in improving lamb survival, essential lambing kit and how to use it and top tips from experienced sheep farmers.  After a classroom based presentation in Auchenmalg Hall, we will visit Ean & Joyce Stewart at Challochmun Farm who will have just started lambing to see what works for them when running a busy lambing shed.

Lunch will be provided.  Warm waterproof clothing that can be easily disinfected is essential.

Please note that the farm visit part of this meeting is not suitable for any ladies who may be pregnant.
