Priority Catchment Awareness Meeting – West Lothian

Book

The River Almond and Forth Estuary have been identified as priority catchments by SEPA. Scotland has 57 priority catchments with SEPA visiting every farm within the catchment in the upcoming years.

Scotland’s Priority Catchments contain some of the country’s most important waters for conservation, drinking water, bathing and fishing, but they are also at an increased risk from diffuse pollution pressures which lead to poor water quality.

This on-farm meeting will consist of short presentations on the priority catchment and opportunities for funding through the forestry grant scheme.  We will then take a short farm walk to discuss watercourse and steading management and SEPA will describe the inspection process in the catchment areas.
