Rushes & Grassland & Croft Improvement
Does your croft have rush infested grassland?
Do you have waterlogged, acid soils?
This event is targeted at crofters who are looking of ways to improve long-term grazing of rush infested land. The day will cover what is needed to address waterlogged, acid soil conditions including:
- Soil type and analysis
- Reseeding
- Liming
- Drainage
- Rush management
- Grazing management
- The timing of these operations.
There will also be discussion on grants and Agri-Environment options with a range of speakers and experts, looking at practical issues in the field.
