Women in Agriculture: Wigtownshire – ‘Making an Idea a Success’

How do you make successful changes to your business?

Do you dream of expanding, changing enterprise or adding an income stream; but don’t know how to tackle business planning, marketing or securing funding?

Come along to Rural Swim to hear the experiences of 2 local ladies who have embraced the challenge! Karen Galloway & her family have undertaken two major changes to their business in the last two years. They have

  • made the move from beef to dairy with the installation of a robotic milking system
  • whilst also opening Rural Swim which offers health and well being facilities in the heart of rural Wigtownshire.

Sarah Redman from Creeside Farm has made the most of the tranquility of their beef & sheep farm and opened Creeside Escape Shepherd’s Hut in spring 2019. This offers a peaceful escape on the banks of the River Cree in her beautifully renovated Shepherds Hut.

Both will give an insight into the ups & downs of tackling a new project and hopefully encourage anyone thinking about making a change to give it a go. Carol-Ann Brown from Business Gateway will also be available to discuss how they are able to provide support to become a successful entrepreneur.
